Is your character an Early Bird, a Night Owl, or a Drowsy Pigeon who's only ever fully awake some time around four?
Clementine is an Early bird. She wakes up naturally around seven a.m. and she wakes up energized. Citrine is a Night Owl, and finds that she's most creative between nine thirty and eleven. Flynne is also a morning person. She wakes up around seven as well and gets an early start to her day.
In The Fiendish Roses, Lennard hates waking up. He was always more of a night owl, and never liked waking up to begin with, but being cursed has made waking up almost torturous. Almost every morning, he has to wake up to the realisation that he is a monster, and he was only dreaming about being human and Felicity really loving him. I mean, there’s no way she’d fall in love with a grotesque talking lion, right? He also generally is more inspired at around midnight anyways, and he also likes stargazing, so that’s a plus (I swear half of my characters have an obsession with stargazing lol). On the other hand, Felicity adores mornings. She loves getting up early, watching the sunrise through her window, listening to the birds while she reads her morning chapter- or two- or maybe she’ll just finish the whole book (she started it yesterday). Every morning between Spring and early Autumn, she’ll go to the woods, or the château garden, smell the flowers, look at the insects, find a nice bench and squeeze in a few chapters, and in the Winter she’ll just gaze at the snow and search for the first snowdrop (and then squeeze in some more chapters).
For The Secret Extremist, Nikolai is a morning person, or, more like he tries to be. He still manages to sneak in ten minutes or so of ‘I’m still asleep’ time. After that, he’s pretty much ready to go like nothing happened. Anastasia’s ten minutes of ‘I’m still asleep’ time is more like ten hours. She’s always tired and trying to sneak a nap in somewhere- so you best believe you don’t want to be against her when she’s fully awake.
