I just recenlty read the first book of the Books of Ember series and it is great! I watched the movie and I thought why not read the books to see what happens next. I love how Jeanne DuPrau writes and I love her world. Part of the reason Scrapteria exists is because of her after all. Very inspirational work. If you're ever looking for a good book to read, I would definitly recommend City of Ember. It's got a lot of good stuff in it.
