Hello everyone! I've decided that I'm only going to post prompts on weekdays so that I have time to rest--and to think about the prompts, lol. Happy Sunday everyone!
Whoops! I almost forgot about today's prompt... 😅
What's the scariest place that your characters need to travel through? Describe it.
Example: The Wandering Woods is a magical, traveling forest filled with nasty, evil creatures and spirits. However, there also lives the spirit Aslan, who is the source of all magic in my world. The creatures there live to protect Aslan by destroying any life-forms from the outside world. There is also an organization called The Defenders, made up of immortal creatures of all kinds, that protect the outside world from the Wandering Woods, and vice-versa. They weave a magical border around the fringes of the wood that keep the spirits in and the rest of the world out. However, since the Wandering Woods is so large, ever-changing, moving, and expanding, sometimes wayward travelers (such as my characters) find themselves lost in the magical wood. The Defenders then locate the mortals and try to return them to their world before they are devoured by spirits.
I don't know, but my probably over half of my book is going to take place during a civil war, so you could say that a battlefield is pretty scary.
What does your protagonist do when they get tired and they are around people? Do their eyes start fluttering closed? Do they take long blinks? Or is your tired MC a nightmare to be around? Irritable, rude, a menace to society?
Example: When Citrine gets tired but isn't able to go to sleep, she gets super sweet and sheds her inhibitions.
Clementine slows down as her weariness hangs heavier on her. She acts pretty much the way she always acts, but slower to catch a joke and less keen on her surroundings.
Flynne is pretty much in the same boat as Clementine. She's not nasty, nor is she abnormally sweet. She's just Flynne minus the high energy.
Azra begins to lose patience more quickly, and sometimes you can see her struggle to remain alert and keep all her emotions in line. She doesn't like random, not-close-friend people to see her tiredness, because she believes it a weakness, but doesn't care that much if it's someone she's close…
Is your protagonist a hugger? Why or why not?
Examples: Clementine loves hugs. She hugs her friends and family, and friends' friends and family, hello and goodbye. She enjoys expressing affection through physical touch and isn't shy. She would probably hug you, too if you got to know her a little bit!
Flynne, on the other hand, is more reserved when it comes to physical affection. She rarely initiates a hug but will usually tolerate one from Clementine or the Larkspur siblings.
Citrine is extremely shy. She actually likes hugs, but sometimes finds them awkward, especially if she doesn't know the person very well. She only hugs her family members but, if hugged, will hug the other person back. (Unless the hug comes out of nowhere, that is. If she's caught by surprise, she may just stand there and not return the action if the hug doesn't last very long.)
Azra will accept hugs from people she likes, like her bffs Tallulah and Phoenix, and of course her family. She sometimes initiates, but usually partakes in more than anything.
How does your character act in social situations?  Are they the life of the party? Do they stick around their friends or siblings?Â
Example: Every year, Clementine and Citrine Hazelwood go to Willow's birthday gala. Clementine has gotten to know Lady Adela (who is a year older than her and also unimportant to the story) and her friends, meanwhile Citrine usually either hangs out with Willow, dances with her dad, or tries to slip into Clementine's conversations.
Azra usually sticks to the people she knows, but if someone starts a convo that is directly in line with her interests/hobbies, she'll come out of her shell and participate in the chatting. Or, if someone challenges her to a race/chess game/any other kind of contest, she can't say no.…
I'd love to know how I can improve this chatting area! Submit any tips on how I can make this a smoother experience.
Okay have fun!
