Week Eight- Vilify

Hello all,

It’s time for the Weekly Webster Word! As you can tell by the title, the word is vilify, and here is its definition on the Merriam-Webster site:

To vilify someone or something is to say or write very harsh and critical things about them. The word is a synonym of defame.

// They were vilified in the press for their comments.

For this week, we’ll just be doing the standard again. Use the word vilify in a sentence or paragraph.

“Come on Lenny, I’m the only person. You were vilified by your family, abandoned, left to die.” A grin warped her face as she stroked his fur. Lennard retched, backing away. Mauve giggled, her laughter cold and empty, sending a jolt down Lennard’s spine. “And Felicity doesn’t care about the real you. You saw how she panicked when you went berserk last night. She’s afraid of you. She only sees a monster, a beast. But I, I am different. I just want to love you,” she sighed, leaning closer, the combined scents of perfume and decay suffocating him, “like I used to. Come on now, I can love you. I can fix you. I can make you whole again- normal again- Lennard again. Why don’t you just trust me?”

Have fun and stay inspired!
