On a scale of one to ten, how responsible are your protagonists? Would they be good babysitters? What about pet sitters? But most importantly, are they on top of their house chores? Do they always make sure that they know what they're having for dinner? (That last part is mostly for adults, lol.)
I would rate Clementine an eight of ten when it comes to responsibility. She always makes sure that she wakes up on time—even if she stays up late reading (Just one more chapter...)—and has babysat before, but even though she did a good job she's vowed to never do that again. So much screaming...
Flynne is a six. She's extremely independent, but also assumes that everyone else is just as capable as she is. She tends to look out for herself and ‘carries her own weight', but that's about it. This is a minor flaw that she has to overcome over the course of the book, because she's now traveling in a large group, and everyone is supposed to look out for each other.
Citrine is a nine. She's always working around her family's farm Whisperwind Pastures and has grown comfortable with the idea that there are lives that depend on her being on time and focused.
Edit: And I would rate myself a five because I forgot to write tomorrow's post last week. 😤
Azra is... well, in terms of organization she's probably a nine or ten. She doesn't like to have a lot of stuff--she believes having a lot of things is a way of basically asking for a mess. She also is a carry-your-own-weight kind of person, mainly because she shies away from any kind of emotional anything (especially fear and sadness) and gets kind of uncomfortable when people start sobbing or pouring out their hearts to her and doesn't like to be part of that sort of thing. Emotions aside, she's a pretty good leader who is decisive and does her best to not let herself become biased by emotions or thoughts when making choices on behalf of the rebellion she ends up co-leading.
And Leah, it’s totally fine to skip a week for daily prompts! Don’t be too hard on yourself!
Not sure if I understood this correctly because this is all about organisation skills and tidiness instead of literal authority but oh well.
In my WIP The Secret Extremist, the protagonist, Nikita, is a 9 or 10. He is very keen on keeping everything clean and organised, which is part of the reason he’s in the secret police (he wants to ‘clean’ his nation of the traitorous scum living in it). He also literally has a lot of responsibility with the mission he’s currently tasked with, infiltrating a rebel group full of students at his university and finding out their true identities and what their plans are.
His sister (she might be Yulia but I might want to save that name for another character) was a much lower number, probably a 4 or 5 at best. She was quite ditzy and would forget to do things (so Nikita did a lot of the chores when they were little, not that he minded though because he actually kind of likes cleaning).
Anastasia, a member of the rebel group, is a 6-8, depending on her mood- it’s higher when she’s in a good mood, and lower when she’s grumpy/upset. She doesn’t have much of an important role in the rebel group (which does not have a name, just like everything else in my WIP so far lol). She hates mess, but hates cleaning more, so she leaves things like laundry, the dishes, and work to the last possible moment.
