So, since we're doing polls, I shall contribute (but this is a decision I actually have to make so votes are helpful.)

My WIP has turned into a trilogy. The first book will be narrated by Azra, and the second book will be narrated by an elf girl. The thing is, she is nissong a few things.

So first, description, so you can get the picture: Slim, 5'8" teen with shoulder-length straight steel-gray metallic hair, fair porcelain skin, pointy ears (!!!),slightly aloof/mildy fierce expression, and... she needs an eye color.

What shall it be?

  • Steel gray, like her hair

  • Violetish blue

  • Ice blue

  • Silver

Next: Personality. She's an elf princess, and has good self esteem (but she's not like "I'm better than everyone", just to be clear), and is very good at biding her time, kind of embodying that 'silent assassin' archetype. She's very cunning, and clever (which can lead her being manipulative, which one of her flaws), and likes things to be carefully…

Hi guys! So, this is a silly little poll series I wanted to do. Basically, this fictional guy is an eight in looks and he likes to read. How would you rate him overall? I'm going to do a few more of these, and anyone who wants to make up their own is welcome! (don't worry, they can be ridiculous)

He's an eight and he reads

Well uh, him being into reading is sort of a priority for me. So definitely a 10!!

Just so you guys know, this is very chaotic. It was really meant for my eyes only.

Timeline:

At age 7, there is a house fire at Calendula's parents manor, killing nearly everyone inside. This is not a fire of nefarious origin, it is truly an accident. Poor baby Calendula. She goes to live with Duke and Duchess Periwinkle. The adjustment period is rough, but soon she's adjusted to her fancy new life without her family.

At age 9 she meets Blossom, the daughter of a close friend of Duke Periwinkle. The two become fast friends.

Age 13- Duchess Periwinkle starts hyping up Calendula for her coming of age ball which happens at age 15. They start planning the party and the things they'll do afterward.

Age 14- Blossom, who's a year older then Calendula has her coming out ball. Technically, Calendula's not supposed to go, but Blossom throws an…

Oo! Maya, I don't think that was too chaotic. (Although, I've been trained to see past chaos and even turn a blind eye to it, so maybe I'm not the best to judge.) Poor Calendula! It's too bad she didn't get her gala. Can't wait to see where you take this story! (I hope you post chapters on here cause now I'm invested! 🫠)

Hello everyone! I'm posting a bit of the beginning of an old draft for my current work in process. I scrapped this beginning, but I'm still posting it! Lol

CHAPTER 1

It’s the worst mess they’ve ever made, but I can’t even bring myself to be mad at them. The diamond encrusted yeti statue was the most hideous and tacky thing I’ve ever seen. Privately, everyone in the manor hates it, the servants because it’s a pain to clean, and the Duke and Duchess because frankly it’s hideous, but no one’s never gotten rid of it because it was a gift from Duke Periwinkle’s Great-Aunt Lemon balm, and they knew she would be offended if it was moved from the Great Hall. Still, I try to act upset so that the twins don’t think it’s okay to go around smashing priceless objects in the house.

“Really you two? Again?” I…

First of all—applause applause applause! This is really interesting! I like how you use present tense instead of past tense. I've never written with it before, (at least I don't think so) but you did it really well! I love the character voice—I really felt the exhaustion that Calendula was feeling. (I also may or may not be sleep deprived... :D) I know that you scrapped this, but this would be a great 'blooper' to include at the end of the book, assuming you publish it one day. Great job!
